Yes, I have been gone a long time – but there was a good reason. See, I moved this month, to a new place. Unlike before however, this place isn’t a rental – it’s an apartment we bought in West Beach. We paid rent in the old place for an overlapping month though – giving us time to do a lot of fixups in the place. We repainted and refloored it, and since then have been furnishing, packing, organizing and handymanning. It’s been pretty hectic in fact, and I was working very hard till late at night – on non-computery stuff – ergo my absense from blogging and scartoonz.
A nice thing in the new place is that it had an extra bedroom, which we converted into a lovely office, with a nice big desk for each of us. Finally I have a computer desk that actually approaches the mythical value of ‘large enough’.
The place is still a mess of boxes which we are unpacking, but it will be cleared up soon. Once that’s done, I will take ‘after’ pix and post them along with the ‘before’ pix.
However I did have a teeny-bit left-over in the budget, with which I bought myself a very lovely nvidia geforce 8400GS video card – I have no idea how I survived so long without an accelerated 3D card ! Now to try it out properly (I am still busy installing the drivers).
