Yesterday was photomeet day again, and our focus was portraits and headshots. We went out to some ruins just outside Simonstown which provided a wonderful backdrop. The one thing against us was the blazing hot sun, bright glaring sunlight like that is terrible lighting for portraiture, so we had to improvise. Lots of work with reflectors and shaded spots were the order of the day. We even used a big canvas cloth to create a diffuser for the sun itself.

Those of you familiar with my work may notice something different about this shoot – it has no sepia pictures in it. Though one or two may have lent themselves wonderfully to sepia, I have been told that I use sepia a tad too often, so I figured I would do at least one shoot without using it once – just to show I can :D
